The aim of the POPP-KAD project is to develop a digital land register for the middle of the 19th century. This register contains the names of all owners and a detailed description of all properties, both built-on and vacant. It not only offers the opportunity to perform research based on intensive statistical analyses of sizeable and representative data series, but also to perform detailed research into specific cases that up until now could not be investigated systematically.
