How do I propose a session for THATCamp Ghent 2015?

With just a few days to go before THATCamp Ghent 2015, perhaps it's a good time to start thinking about what session you would like to propose? Afterall a THATCamp is all about participation! Assuming that you have already registered, then all you need to do to propose a session is to login to the THATCamp website, with your THATCamp username and password and click on Posts - Add New to add your session to the THATCamp Ghent 2015 website.

The outline schedule is already available. There are up to 12 sessions and we've allocated up to 90 minutes per session. However, perhaps keep in mind that the human attention span is around 45-60 minutes, so perhaps plan a shorter sessions to allow for more discussion and breathing space in between sessions?

When thinking about what type of session you would like to propose, the THATCamp website suggests that "there are roughly four things people do in THATCamp sessions: Talk, Make, Teach, and Play."

Talk: you offer to lead a group discussion on a topic or question of interest to you.

Make: you offer to lead a small group in a hands-on collaborative working session with the aim of producing a draft document or piece of software.

Teach: you offer to teach a skill, either a “hard” skill or a “soft” skill.

Play: anything goes — you suggest literally playing a game, or playing around as a group with one or more technologies, or just doing something fun or original.

For more ideas, including sessions from previous THATCamps in each of the talk, make, teach, play categories are available on the THATCamp Ghent website.

The first session ideas are starting to appear and we are looking forward to seeing others in the coming days!
