HAICu PhD and Postdoc Day

HAICu is a Netherlands-wide consortium bringing together educational, heritage and infrastructure organizations to answer the question ‘Will digitisation save our cultural heritage?’.

Every six months, HAICu’s PhDs and Postdocs gather at a cultural heritage institution for educational and networking activities. This time, we are opening our doors to external participants to come join us!

If you are:

  • An early-career researcher
  • Affiliated with a Belgian university or institution
  • Conducting research related to digital humanities and cultural heritage

You are welcome to join us on 26 October 2026 at the Erfgoedbibliotheek Hendrik Conscience in Antwerp for a full-day (10:30-17:00) mini-conference on the theme of ‘international outreach and networking’.

The goal is to get to know both the (digital) cultural heritage landscapes of Belgium and the Netherlands, and some of the early career researchers active within them. The programme will consist of a combination of presentations, interactive activities and ample opportunities for networking. After the event, we will also go for social drinks at a venue near the Central Station (at your own expense).

We are aiming for a maximum of 40 participants to ensure that everyone has a chance to actively be involved

Registration for the event is free, but spaces are limited, so if you sign up, please commit to attending. To sign up, please fill out the registration form.

Further details will be communicated to attendees at a later date. If you have any questions in the meantime, please contact Sebastiaan Peeters at the University of Twente.
