Workshop QGIS

Geographic Information Systems (GIS) help you structure, analyze, and visualize information with a spatial dimension. This workshop will introduce you to the fundamental principles of GIS and the types of data used within these systems.  You will work hands-on with QGIS, a widely used open-source GIS tool that allows you to create maps and analyze geodata.

The workshop will be led by Hans Blomme from the Ghent Centre for Digital Humanities, who has extensive experience in applying GIS for historical and social research.

The event will be held on Thursday, November 14th, from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM at Ghent University. Please bring your own laptop with QGIS pre-installed. Wifi will be available via eduroam.

In early November, registered participants will receive an email with details on the exact workshop location and installation instructions for QGIS.
